I Left My Heart U-Locked In San Francisco

I don't really understand why people do what they do sometimes. Not that I'm on some higher moral ground or anything. I've let people down, I've caused pain, I've had ulterior motives and bad intentions. I guess the difference is that I always fess up, I'm honest about my mistakes, and I hope that part of me never changes.

Once again, I opened up my heart to somebody and they took complete advantage of the open door. Walked in and trashed the place, really. I should be angry because he made quite a mess of things in a very short time, but I'm not all that upset about what I lost. Mostly I'm really really confused, but also annoyed that I'm going to have to change all the locks, yet again, add more deadbolts, and ask for three forms of ID before I even consider peeking through the peephole (no, that's not some kind of sexual innuendo you pervs).

Enough about him, though, he's really not worth more than two paragraphs, and I'm sorry I spent even that much on him (time is the most precious thing of all, 'cause you can never get that back, right buddy?). Let's move on to all of the awesome things that I'm doing, and all the truly awesome people I'm doing them with!

In case you haven't heard yet, I'm the new Editorial Assistant at SLUG Magazine! It took a minute, but I'm finally getting paid to work my dream job! Not only am I super stoked because my coworkers and my boss are fucking awesome, but I'm actually in charge of stuff, and can't wait to prove what I can do. No one's ever given me this kind of opportunity, and the fact that I get to do it with SLUG is seriously a dream come true.

What else, what else... Oh, random, but the new Whole Foods has pretty much changed my life. More specifically, The Timmy. Now there's a man that satisfies. Grilled BBQ tempeh with ranch, melted Daiya, onions, tomatoes and lettuce on toasted ciabatta, oh god, yes, yes, YES! Uhuh, that just happened.

Even though my trip to San Francisco this weekend was more than disappointing, the city itself left a big impression. I hate to admit it, but it just might have surpassed my love for NYC... it's possible that's only because I'm in springtime mode, though, and SF was green and beautiful. In any case, I can't ignore the fact that it doesn't snow there, which would make life that much more enjoyable. Allie, Lisa and I have started scheming... I need to get Anna in on this, too (just Facebooked her, done).

Well, I'll leave ya'll with this beautiful Spanish rose:

Haha, does anybody get tired of my ego? Or is it still adorable?
