My birthday this week turned out okay. The storm kind of ruined the party 'cause we were all supposed to meet up at Brewvies and the power went out, but Carla and Anna got me the most delicious chocolate cake I've ever had from Cakewalk. All the non-vegans couldn't believe a vegan cake could be so delicious, which added a little more satisfaction in eating it.
Nick also went above and beyond for my bday, or maybe he was just sick of me talking about my quest for Sabra Chipotle Hummus, in any case, he had his aunt send me some from San Diego! Hands down the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me. (That's my so excited and exhausted I can't even smile right face.)Carla got me a gift certificate for Journey's in hopes that I would buy some sneakers to run in, but she understands that I had to go with the Macbeths with blue laces instead...
It was one of the best birthdays ever, and dragged on for basically the whole week, which is how everyone's birthday should be! So... are you ready for some more exciting news?!
.... I worked the SLUG booth at the tattoo convention again!

Okay okay, so now for the real exciting news, I got a new tattoo! I wanted to get this as sister tattoos with Carla last year, but she didn't like the idea so we got the bikes instead. I decided I still wanted to get it done, though, and when I saw Uzi's portfolio at the convention, I knew it had to be done by him. I got a bunch of money from my tax return, and it's still my birthday week, right?! So I splurged a little and went in on Saturday for about three hours.
It was a little strange getting tattooed with so many people walking by, but it helped keep my mind off the pain to do some people watching. I had a few friends come visit, including Allie and Andrew and my new friends from the convention, Eric and George. :) It's on the inside of my right arm, in case you can't tell, and for some reason it's really swollen and bruised, but I'm really excited about it!
