FM Satisfaction

Basically, I want to have sex with Ira Glass. I know I'm not alone in this. I've sampled about 5 different podcasts, and none of them are as satisfying as This American Life. Yes yes, you're sick of hearing about it, but I can't help myself.

Anyway, moving on. I'm one week away from my trip. That's right, I have a plane ticket. I'm making dreams come true here, people! My first stop is in Austin, Texas, where I will be greeted by a friend I haven't seen in person since high school graduation... that was five fucking years ago! I don't even care about what there might be to see and do in Austin, all I want to do is revisit our years in middle school together, pigging out and talking about boys. She is, however, thoroughly excited to take me to see the first-ever Whole Foods store in the country. I hear Austin is like the Portland of the South, so my vegan-centric diet should be satiated.

Speaking of food, after four days in South PDX, I will be on my merry way to seven days in the Big Apple, where it seems, food is the main tourist attraction. Whenever I ask people what I should do and see there, aside from the obvious Central Park and Broadway pointers, I get a lot of food suggestions. Of course, as excited as I am for street falafel and pizza, I am even more excited for a tour of Studio 8H, where 30 Rock is filmed, a comedy show at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater, where Amy Poehler has been a regular, and obviously, a double-decker bus tour, 'cause my co-worker Scotty told me to watch "The Cruise" and now I'm all about bus tours, though I doubt Timothy Levitch will be the guide.
